Site Unseen

Blakely Moore thought early retirement would be easy. Instead, she’s nursing a broken heart and living in a twenty-nine-foot trailer with her dog, Mabel, and three meddling best friends.

Then someone starts stalking the seasonal campers and all signs point to Steph, one of Blakely’s closest friends.

When Blakely’s loathsome former mentor buys the campground, things go from bad to worse. And when a woman’s body is found at the bottom of a gorge, it dredges up memories of the one case Blakely never solved—and the woman she never stopped loving.

Now, caught between a chilling mystery and feelings she shouldn’t have for Steph, Blakely has no choice but to confront her past before history repeats itself.

Site Unseen by Nancy Newman is a heart-pounding thriller. Blakely Moore thought retirement would be good for her, but when her wife leaves her for a younger woman, Blakely doesn’t know what to do with herself. She heads off with her dog and best friends to spend the summer in a campground trailer but discovers that she can’t leave her job as a criminal profiler behind. A stalker is terrorizing the campers, and his focus seems to be on one of her friends, Steph. The new campground owner is Blakely’s old mentor, and he’s doing a bad job of managing the place, but, much as Blakely hates him, she can’t abandon her friends. When another body turns up, she steps straight back into cop mode, back to her first day on the job with a similar murder, and now she knows she has to do all she can to save her friends. Will Blakely find the murderer? Can she lay some old ghosts to rest? And what does Steph really mean to her?

Site Unseen by Nancy Newman is a wonderfully taut thriller with plenty of action. The prologue alone leaves you wanting more, and that’s without reading the main story! This book has a unique plot with plenty of twists and turns. It is packed with action and excitement and is written in a compelling style that stops you from putting it down – be prepared because you’ll not want to stop reading once you start. This story will have you on the edge of your seat, and you’ll fall in love with the characters, each with their distinct personalities and developed into likable, relatable people. I’ll even hazard a guess that you’ll be rooting for Blakely to find her next true love. This story has everything – a bit of police procedural, mystery, murder, humor, and romance – the perfect ingredients for a few hours of reading to take you away from real life. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I am looking forward to reading more from Nancy Newman soon
